Question of the day
We were at Delifrance last night for dinner. Charmaine kept scrutinising the salt bottle in front of her. But she did not ask. Daddy interpreted as she asking that it is, so just said it is Salt.
Of course mummy knows her daughter better, what she wanted to ask is " why are there rice in the salt bottle?"
Daddy did not answer. She must be pondering throughout dinner, and when we were queuing to exit the car park. She suddenly exclaimed, " I know , the rice is to prevent the salt to be too salty."
Daddy too had similar answer. He said the salt particles is too small so the rice is to prevent it too much for coming out at 1 go.
They thought great minds think alike. Ha ha.
P.S. Answer: The rice will absorb any moisture in the environment that might make its way into the bottle, preventing the salt from caking into hard lumps inside the salt bottle.
